Carmarthenshire Food Network

Carmarthenshire Food Network was established in 2021 out of Covid-19 where people felt disconnected, and for those who were struggling to access food especially for those who were in need of foodbanks. It brings together community growers, professional food producers, schools, chefs, distributors, foodbanks, community hot food projects and food surplus providers. In addition, stakeholders such as Carmarthenshire County Council, Hywel Dda Health Board and Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services.

The Network’s mission is to develop a cohesive group of members that can support sustainable food provision through connecting with one another and the community, by sharing resources and best practices as well as supporting those at risk of food poverty. The potential benefits to membership include networking opportunities within the sector, skill and resource sharing, funding opportunities, site visits, training, and support. The Network has approximately 150 members and is still growing.

If you are interested in becoming a member it is free and requires a short application form to be filled in. If you email [email protected] they will send you the membership details, which will get you on the Carmarthenshire Food Network’s mailing list to keep you informed of meetings, events, funding, and courses.
